Our Current Programs
Packs
The primary program of HELP. It consists of the creation and distribution of care packages generally in the form of backpacks (can also be in the form of duffle bags) filled with daily essentials to include but not limited to non-perishable foods, clothing vouchers, socks, hygiene products, health/wellness products, gift cards (occasionally), seasonal items (winter = hat & gloves; summer = sunscreen & sunglasses), a blanket, and a few other items that are highly requested or even a few special extra items to put a smile on each recipient’s face.
Attire for Change
A sub-program of Packs that provides clothing to those who receive a care package from the organization and it also stands as an open inclusive community closet packed with a variety of clothing items plus accessories. All clothes are donated by individuals and groups. About 10% - 15% of donated inventory is sold on our virtual thrift stores or at local market events we participate in, 100% of the profits goes directly to HELP for general operation related expenses as well as program related expenses. We want to lower the boundaries for common obstacles that seem to happen all too often, especially the obstacle of clothing insecurity.
